Anti-Wrinkle Injections
Anti-wrinkle injections use a muscle relaxant into specific muscles to stop lines becoming pronounced. The active ingredient in the anti-wrinkle injections is a well-known purified bacterial protein that has been used for over 20 years in the cosmetic industry around the world, with an excellent safety record and reputation. These proteins interrupt the signals between the nerves and the muscles – reducing the muscle contractions and thus the appearance of lines and wrinkles.
Your questions answered
You will have a consultation with your doctor and have the opportunity to discuss how the treatment works and what to expect. It is a non-surgical procedure whereby a small amount of anti-wrinkle product is administered into selected facial muscles using a very fine microneedle. Any discomfort felt is minimal and brief. There are no immediate visible signs of having had the treatment and you can return to your normal activities after the treatment.
A number of brands are available for use in these treatments, including Botox®, Bocouture® and Azzulure®.
Anti-wrinkle treatments typically take 10-30 minutes. However, this is a bespoke service and will differ for each client. Your first consultation will be longer, and your doctor may not conduct a treatment during the first appointment.
This differs between individuals but typically the effects will last for 6 -12 weeks, depending on the dose used and the individual patient response, If you choose not to have further treatments, your muscles will eventually return to normal activity and your wrinkles will revert to their pre-treatment levels, i.e. the effect of the treatment will gradually wear off. If you have treatments regularly, the effects will start to last longer, and you will not need to have them as often. The effect is not permanent. It should be noted that This treatment is very effective on its own but can be combined with our other facial treatments to further improve the appearance of your skin.
