Anti-wrinkle injections are intended to enhance and refresh your looks. Treatment will only relax muscles beneath the facial lines at the point of injection so that other elements of facial expression remain active.

Yes. Although you should avoid having this treatment if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, or if you have an allergy to any of the components.

Anti-wrinkle treatments typically take 10-30 minutes. However, this is a bespoke service and will differ for each client. Your first consultation will be longer, and your doctor may not conduct a treatment during the first appointment.

This differs between individuals but typically the effects will  last for  6 -12 weeks, depending on the dose used and the individual patient response,   If you choose not to have further treatments, your muscles will eventually return to normal activity and your wrinkles will revert to their pre-treatment levels, i.e. the effect of the treatment will gradually wear off. If you have treatments regularly, the effects will start to last longer, and you will not need to have them as often. The effect is not permanent. It should be noted that This treatment is very effective on its own but can be combined with our other facial treatments to further improve the appearance of your skin.

Regular anti-wrinkle treatments will improve the longevity of the treatment’s effects, in other words the results of each treatment will last for longer and therefore the time between each treatment can be extended. In addition, regular treatment may help reduce static wrinkles (these are wrinkles that are present even when your face is at rest).

While you may experience no side effects at all, as with all medications, side effects can occur. The dose of anti-wrinkle medication used for facial lines is small and any side effects are usually temporary and localised to the area of injection. Possible side effects include headache, pain, burning/stinging, bruising, swelling or redness at the injection site, local muscle weakness including drooping eyelids/eyebrows, swollen eyelids, skin tightness and itching.

You should not have this treatment if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, if you have myasthenia gravis or if you have an allergic reaction to any of the products used during the treatment. Those on blood thinning drugs are likely to experience bruising after an anti-wrinkle sprinkle treatment. Your doctor will discuss any additional concerns with you during your consultation.
